CUSTOMER REFERENCE SERVICE
    
One of the most discussed aspects of credit administration is the outsourcing of various credit functions that have historically been done in-house.  DCS has seen significant growth over the past few years in letter writing services, UCC filings, consulting on claims and, most recently, the expeditious handling of customers' credit references.
Credit managers must deal with staff downsizing with little or no assistance except, possibly, a new accounts receivable/credit system that is not always credit friendly. Toward this end, Diversified Credit has developed a reference follow-up service that is basic, yet complete, and handled in a timely manner. A sample program would work as follows:
--Client faxes reference sheet to Diversified's Cleveland office.
--within 24 hours of receipt, Diversified will make phone contact with references.
--within 48 hours of receipt, Diversified will FAX reference information to client.
There will be those references that cannot be contacted within 48 hours but at no additional cost, we will make a second or third attempt to obtain reference if necessary.
Costs:
--$25 for a reference list which does not exceed six references. Additional cost will be $5 per reference beyond the standard six references.
--$50, if in addition to references, a basic financial statement ratio analysis is required. Using the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, we would run the standard ratios such as Current, Debt to Equity, Quick ratios, etc.
